Make the switch to a reusable coffee cup
Thanks to our many great local cafes, we’re able to fuel up on some of the best coffee in the world here in Taranaki.
But single use coffee cups aren’t recyclable, and compostable cups need to go to a commercial composting facility to break down. So an estimated three million coffee cups and lids sadly go to landfill in our region each year after a single use.
The best choice is to bring your own clean coffee cup whenever you order a takeaway coffee, or borrow a reusable cup instore.
Local cafes are making that easy, by offering two great choices for take away coffee:
Borrow an Again Again cup
At participating cafes, for a one-off bond of $3, you can take away a stainless steel cup and lid, without having to remember your own cup.
Next time, bring the used cup back to any participating cafe and swap it for a free fresh cup, paying only for your coffee. Or get a refund of $3 on your cup at any time.
