Aotearoa Bike Challenge - February 2019

Aotearoa Bike Challenge

The Aotearoa Bike Challenge is a fun, free national competition focused on helping workplaces encourage their staff to give biking a go - we think once you try it, you'll feel the love of riding.

This February register your organisation for the Aotearoa Bike Challenge, and get your staff on their bikes to earn points and win prizes. Organisations compete against other organisations of a similar size by earning points based on staff participation. Individual staff members get points for kilometres ridden, number of days ridden and number of people encouraged. Each organisation that signs up will receive a goody bag of prizes.

There are fabulous national and local prizes up for grabs. Our local New Plymouth prize is a Meloyelo e-bike worth $2750, which will go to one lucky organisation to help it's staff get to that meeting across town.

Sign up your workplace now, get your staff to register and start logging rides this February.  We want to put New Plymouth on the leader board for biking in New Zealand.

Consider these great February events to improve your bike skills or be in the crowd to watch some cool biking with Ride Summertime Rolls Calendar.  Take part with your workplace mates to boost your riding trips for the Aotearoa Bike Challenge 2019.

Local Prizes

Our main prize this year is an amazing electric bike thanks to Meloyelo e-Bikes.

This bike is a great start to any organisation's e-bike fleet, it will make it super easy for staff who need to go to off-site meetings.   We think this is the future for organisations to get their staff thinking about more active ways to travel.

The Meloyelo e-bike prize will be drawn at the Ride Summertime Rolls event Velo Dues in Central New Plymouth (near Jetcharm Barbers) on Friday 1st March 2019 at 5.30pm. Come along with your workmates and watch the vintage bike race!

Each New Plymouth-based organisation that registers for the Aotearoa Bike Challenge will receive entries into the prize draw. The more staff who take part the more entries the organisation gets, for example 50% staff participating equates to 5 entries in the draw.    Staff registered need to be logging rides during the month of February to be counted.
