Closes: 5pm Friday 16 July
We've been asked to change how you pay for your parking
The New Plymouth Business and Retail Association and the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce have suggested NPDC provide one hour of free parking in the city centre and to extend paid parking from 5pm to 7pm from Monday to Saturday. Councillors agreed in principle that this could kick in from 1 October and to run till 30 June 2024 - but it's not set in stone and we want to hear from you first.
What it means
Parking in metered spaces would be free for the first hour. After that, the normal charge of $2 per hour would apply. Paid parking would also extend to 7pm on Monday to Saturday.
Time limits won't change, so a P120 (two hours) space would still be limited to two hours.
Take the quick survey and tell us what you think.
