Anzac Day Waitara temporary traffic controls and service times 17 April 2019 The Waitara Returned Services Association are holding Anzac Day services in Waitara on Thursday 25 April 2019. During commemorations temporary traffic controls will be in place between 5.30am and 11.30am on the following roads: Affected roads: Queen Street McLean Street Memorial Place Grey Street. Dawn service: parade leaves Queen Street at 5.45am for a 6am service at the Memorial Place cenotaph, then returns to Queen Street. Civic service: parade leaves Queen Street at 9.45am for a 10am service at the Knox church, 17 Grey Street. Following this service the parade will proceed to the Memorial Place cenotaph for laying of the wreaths, then return to Queen Street. Emergency vehicles will have access at all times. Clearway 30 - 31 January 29 January 2019 A heavy load will be transported from Port Taranaki to Vickers Road on the above dates. A clearway is required from 10pm on Wednesday 30 January to 4am on Thursday 31 January along the following roads: Breakwater Road. St Aubyn Street. Molesworth Street. Hobson Street from Molesworth Street to Northgate. Northgate via Paynters Avenue on/off ramp. SH3/Devon Road. Vickers Road to Fitzroy Engineering. Please ensure that the roadway outside all properties is kept clear on both sides of the above streets. Any vehicles left on the roadway will be towed at the owner’s expense. Egmont Road closed for road markings 08 January 2019 There will be some road marking work on Egmont Road this Thursday (10 January) so the road will closed from about 3pm from the first set of gates at the start of Egmont National Park. The work will be happening at the North Egmont Visitor Centre car park, the Waiwhakaiho car park and Kaiauai Rock car park. If the work is delayed by the weather, the road marking will take place on 11 January. We’ll also be putting up a notice about the work at the Kaimiro Hall. The road is expected to be back to normal on Friday. Thanks for your patience while we complete this work. Submissions to the closure should reach New Plymouth District Council by 4pm on Tuesday 16 October. Submissions must be made on the road closure form, which is available online at newplymouthnz.com/submissions, or by contacting the Council on 06-759 6060 or enquiries@npdc.govt.nz. Emergency vehicles will have unrestricted access at all times. During the proposed period of closure, an approved traffic management plan will provide for ordinary vehicular traffic which would otherwise use the roads. Temporary Road Closure Liardet Street 19 April 2018 Pavement repairs on Liardet Street will require the road to be closed.  Accordingly, in terms of Section 342(1)(b) of the Local Government Act 1974 the Council directs that Liardet Street (between Leach and Pendarves streets) be closed 6pm to 7am for three nights from Thursday 19 April or until works are completed (weather permitting). Detours will be in place. Temporary road closure on Devon Street East for Crowded House Hot Cars Bikes and BBQ Night event 30 October 2017 In accordance with the tenth schedule of the Local Government Act 1974, the following road will be closed to ordinary vehicular traffic to enable Crowded House Bar and Café to hold a Hot Cars, Bikes and BBQ Night event. Date and period of closure: from 5.30pm to 11pm on Thursday 2 November 2017. Roads to be closed: Devon Street East from Liardet to Gover streets. Emergency vehicles will have unrestricted access at all times. In all other situations necessitating the use of the road, contact must be made with the Traffic Management coordinators on-site, on the day. The road may be reopened at an earlier time as decided by the organisers upon removal of all road closure signs and barriers at the venue. The roads will then be open to normal vehicle traffic and normal traffic regulations will apply. Request for temporary road closure on Queen Street New Plymouth HMNZS Endeavour Parade 11 September 2017 New Plymouth District Council has requested the following temporary road closure to enable the HMNZS Endeavour crew to conduct a charter parade. Road to be closed: Queen Street from Devon Street West to King Street. Date and period of closure: from 10am to noon on Saturday 18 November. The charter parade will depart from Queen Street at 11am using the following route, concluding at Puke Ariki Landing for a community event: Queen Street. Devon Street West. Currie Street. Ariki Street. A stop/go operation will be in place on the parade route and short delays are to be expected. Emergency vehicles will have unrestricted access at all times.
