Sort Ya Kit Out!
Statistics show that a very small percentage of our community are readily prepared with the essentials required to survive as comfortably as possible if and when a disaster was to strike. We are therefore making it our mission to help you and your family sort ya kit out!
To help get you started, we are giving away 1000 limited edition, reusable shopping bags designed in collaboration with award-winning New Zealand artist Andrew J. Steele. You can then start filling these bags up with the essential items you will need if disaster strikes.
How to get your limited edition bag
These will be available at the following locations:
- New Plymouth New World on Wednesday 2 October from 9am
- Waitara New World on Thursday 3 October from 9am
- Inglewood New World on Friday 4 October from 9am
To get a bag, simply register your email with us when picking your bag up at one of the above locations. By registering, you will also go in the draw to win one of 25 family survival kits worth $150, or, one of two $500 survival kits! There are also a number of other spot prizes up for grabs including grocery vouchers and essential disaster kit items!
Spot check week
We will be conducting a number of Spot Checks during the week of Monday 21 October to see whether you are on your way to sorting your kit out. These will be done by random selection of those registered. But don’t worry, you don’t have to participate in Spot Check week if you don’t want to. Those who do will be in to win some awesome prizes though – just saying!
If you weren’t able to get your hands on one of our limited edition reusable bags, you can still register for Spot Check Week. Simply enter your name and email below.
Follow the New Plymouth District Council Facebook page for regular updates, and the opportunity to go in the draw for more Sort ya Kit Out prizes that will help you and your family GET SORTED!
