Human Rights Documentary Films

Mon 24 Nov 2008 - Fri 05 Dec 2008

Time: Screening times vary
Location: Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, Queen St, New Plymouth

A collection of documentary films focused on world human rights issues, organised by the French Embassy. All films are subtitled. Entry is free.

In December 2008, the international community will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The films screening at the Govett-Brewster remind us of the fragility of human rights, victories ever endangered, struggles constantly started over. From the child soldiers of Liberia to the women of Srebrenica these films draw a path of memory and history of our times with its buring wounds and immense hopes.
