G-TARanaki International Guitar Festival

Mon 14 Jul 2008 - Sat 19 Jul 2008

Locations: Through-out Taranaki
Rock, blues, jazz, folk ... the first New Zealand International Guitar Festival will cater for all tastes and persuasions!

Taranaki will resonate to the tune of massed strings over the six-day period, culminating in concerts at the New Plymouth TSB Stadium delivered exclusively by international guitar legends.

Guitar legend Joe Satriani will head the line-up of international guitar stars, which includes former Deep Purple and Black Sabbath bassist and vocalist Glenn Hughes and Guns n' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke.

Tim Donahue playing his harp guitar. Other international guitarists confirmed for the festival include Uli Jon Roth, Tom Donahue and Alex Skolnick Trio.

Not only will you be able to witness guitar mastery in an intimate environment but you will also witness some unique combinations of players that will make G-TARanaki a talking point for future generations.

Along with the two stadium concerts there are forums, clinics, midnight sessions and holiday programmes which will all take place at Puke Ariki.

All of these events will be held amongst the G-TARanaki guitar exhibition which will take place in the basement area of Puke Ariki for the week of the festival. Visit www.gtaranaki.co.nz to find out more.
