Time: 10am-4pm
(Opening night 6pm-9pm 23 September)
Location:JustArt Space above the Powderoom
An exhibition, showcasing the work of Justin Morgan and Chris Wells, featuring collage, a sculptural piece and digital works.

Distortion is the collaboration of Taranaki artists Justin Morgan and Chris Wells. They first showed together in 2002 during the ‘Forging Alliances’ exhibition at the now defunct Zeal Youth Space and have since shown together multiple times over the last four years throughout the North Island.

Justin Morgan is an avid member of the Taranaki arts community, a student at WITT, works at the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery and is the founder/director of JustArt – Showcasing and promoting artists through exhibition and online experiences. Justin continues to push himself and challenge others with his contemporary ideas covering a variety of mediums.

Chris Wells has worked as a chef during most of has artistic career. Known widely for his ability to master the pencil, his works have been placed in personal and private collections throughout New Zealand and overseas. Having had the experience of two years study at the Massey School of Arts in Wellington, Chris has progressed his ideas into other mediums - collage, performance, painting and digital print.
His attention to detail cannot go unnoticed. Nor can the rigours process to which has seemingly come attached to his working method.

This show is not only a coming together of two artists but also an amalgamation of past and current work. With the emphasis on showcasing a few new methods of artistic development that are derived through the use of such techniques as digital manipulation fused with urban ideals, mass production and the subconscious.

To conclude it must also be brought to your attention that although there is an amount of artistic interaction taking place. It is still important to have fun and to allow yourself the opportunity to get involved in the process.
