Youth Hui

Wed 28 May 2008

Calling all young people! The council is looking for participants for a youth hui to discuss the big issues affecting the youth in our district.

As part of the council's preparation for the 2009-19 community plan, participants at the hui will discuss issues and come up with actions the council and the community need to take to make positive changes for the whole community.

As part of the hui, participants will be given a camera and go out into the community and capture their ideas in pictures. This may be photographing a building that has been empty for years, or a piece of land that lay wasted and unused, and telling us what we could do with them.

At the same time, a group of elderly residents will be doing the same thing. The two groups will then come together in early July and share their ideas.

Your views really do matter! If you are interested in joining the youth hui then give us a call!
