NEW PLYMOUTH AIRPORT IS A KEY GATEWAY TO THE REGION

New Plymouth Airport

New Plymouth Airport is a 50:50 joint venture between the Crown and the council. The council holds the aerodrome operator’s certificate and operates the airport on behalf of the joint venture.

This includes the provision, maintenance and operation of the land and facilities, including the runways and the terminal building, but excludes the control tower and navigational aids which are provided, maintained and operated by the Airways Corporation of New Zealand (ACNZ).

Land not required for aircraft operations and the terminal is leased for hangars, aviation-related businesses and grazing.
