Council-Controlled Bodies

Council-controlled bodies are organisations in which the council has a 50 per cent or greater shareholding, or level of governance control over. There are six organisations under the control of New Plymouth District Council.

Apex Consultants

Apex Consultants Limited provides professional engineering services to local government organisations and other clients throughout New Zealand.

Forestry Joint Ventures

The council has four joint venture forestry developments.

New Plymouth Airport

New Plymouth Airport is a 50:50 joint venture between the Crown and the council.

Taranaki Investment Management Limited

Taranaki Investment Management Limited (TIML) is 100 per cent owned by the council with independent directors.

Venture Taranaki

Venture Taranaki is a council-controlled organisation with a governing board appointed by New Plymouth District Council.

Yarrow Stadium Trust

The Yarrow Stadium Trust is a charitable trust and a council-controlled organisation under the Local Government Act 2002.
