New Plymouth District Council is constantly striving to deliver better services to its customers. Because of this commitment to improvement a number of council teams, events or developments have been recognised through external awards.

Community Category - the joint Herekawe Walkway project (awarded to NPDC, Dow Agrosciences, Shell, Methanex, Taranaki Tree Trust and A J Cowley)

New Zealand Planning Institute Awards 2007

Award of Merit - the Mana Whenua Mana Moana position paper (awarded to the Mana Whenua Reference Group, Beca Carter Hollings & Ferner and NPDC). The position paper provided important information for the district’s Coastal Strategy, which NPDC finalised late last year to guide coastal issues for the next 20 years.
