Venture Taranaki Trust

Venture Taranaki Trust is the region's development agency and facilitates business success from enterprise inception through to sustainable growth based on international competitiveness.

Made up of integrated teams working in economic development, marketing and events, film and tourism, the organisation works one-on-one with individuals, businesses, small groups, clusters, sectors and industry to grow the economic wellbeing of Taranaki.

The New Plymouth District Council is both the controlling organisation and majority funder of the Venture Taranaki Trust.

Economic Development

The economic development arm of Venture Taranaki provides a diverse range of business assistance services ranging from start-up support to business capability training, to long-term industry and skills development work.

Tourism

Tourism is a growing industry in Taranaki, and Venture Taranaki's tourism team has been integral to that growth. The team's role includes building Taranaki's local tourism operators, promoting the region through tourism channels and hosting visiting media. 

Marketing and events

Venture Taranaki's marketing and events team are charged with district and regional promotion and facilitating major events in the Taranaki region.

Film

Film Venture Taranaki works to attract film investment into the region and facilitate major filming projects in Taranaki. Successes have included the Last Samurai, the off-beat love story Show of Hands, and many small advertising shoots.
