Army Association New Zealand, Taranaki Branch

Aims: An organisation for New Zealand soldiers, retired or serving, all eras, for social activities and maintaining interests in military history and traditions.

 

Biz@Home

Aims: Biz @ Home is for people who work from home or independently. We meet at Salt Restaurant, Waterfront Hotel from 10am on Thursdays. A social, informal opportunity to meet other people who run a small business.

 

Blind Sport and Recreation, Taranaki

Aims: To provide recreational activities for visually impaired people.

 

Christian Fellowship for Disabled

Aims: To help our people with disabilities to reach their full potential. To educate, equip and share Christianity.

 

Community Trust, Inglewood

Aims: To provide help, support, friendship and information to those in need. To provide a venue for other groups to meet. Social education. To refer people to other services and agencies.

Egmont Caravan & Campers Club

Aims: To promote recreational camping and caravaning.

 

Egmont Lions Club, New Plymouth

Aims: "We Serve", is the Lion Club's international motto. Club members are involved throughout the year assisting other voluntary services with collections to continue their social good work.

 

Egmont Sports Car Club

Aims: To build awareness of sports cars and bring people together for outings, weekend trips, club nights and friendship.

 

Farmers Market Taranaki Trust

Aims: Support local growers and food producers by providing an outlet to sell direct to customers. We also have other important sustainability aims. We are a registered not for profit trust. We believe in "By Taranaki, for Taranaki".

 

Founders Society New Zealand, Taranaki Branch

Aims: Historical research.

 

Friends of Puke Ariki

Aims: To stimulate interest in Puke Ariki as a knowledge centre, collect and conserve items of interest to the people of Taranaki and promote Taranaki history.

 

Friends Of Pukekura Park New Plymouth

Aims: Pukekura Park enthusiasts whose main interest is to safeguard the park's special nature. We work closely with the council's park management. Meet socially for talks, guided tours, field trips. Volunteers do hands-on work in the park. Buggy tours are available for those less mobile.

 

Friendship Force Of New Plymouth

Aims: To promote international friendships through a programme of home-hosted exchanges.

 

Hearing Impaired Social Group

Aims: A support group for the hearing impaired within the community. We meet on the last Tuesday of the month (February to November).

 

Inner Wheel Club of New Plymouth North

Aims: To promote true friendships, encourage the ideals of personal service (charity) and to foster international understanding.

 

Kaimiro Ladies Social Club

Aims: Coffee mornings.

 

Lapidary and Mineral Club, Taranaki

Aims: To promote the hobby of the study of minerals, lapidary work, rocks and fossils to the general public .

Poetry Discussion Group, New Plymouth

Aims: Discuss and read poetry. Group meets second Wednesday of the month, February to December at 1.30pm.

 

Polish Genealogical Society

Aims: To help those with interest in family history and the various changing borders of Poland.

 

Poultry and Pigeon Club, Taranaki

Aims: Promote the racing and showing of pure breed poultry and pigeons.

 

Red Hat Society

Aims: The Red Hat Society is a global social organisation for women actively promoting and supporting fun, friendship, freedom, fulfilment and fitness.

Red Hat Society is a place where women are royalty every day, a place where women can open their hearts to share, support and care for one another, and a place where fun reigns supreme.

Precious Pearls is the only registered chapter of the Red Hat Society in Taranaki. We just love wearing our red hats and purple outfits - they set the mood for the fun we have!

Aims: Getting women together with Scottish connections to talk about old times and new things.

 

Scrabble Club, Waitara

Aims: To play scrabble every Wednesday at 1.00pm and have fun.

 

Spiritual Centre, North Taranaki

Aims: Education, natural healing, self development and spiritual development.

 

Stratford Toastmasters Club

Aims: The mission of our club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

 

Taranaki Beekeepers Club

Aims: A group of beekeepers working together and helping new beekeepers to get started.

 

Taranaki Irish Social Club

Aims: Social club endeavouring to keep the Irish culture alive. We also organise and hold the regional Taranaki contest "The Rose at Tralee". Activities include gaelic football, hurling, irish dancing, races, musicians, parades, cards, social gatherings and St Patricks Day celebrations.

Aims: Meets the first Monday of each month at the IHC Centre in Stratford.

Tongan Community, Taranaki

Aims: We are a community of Tongan families who meet to talk, support and teach our children all aspects of our culture, including language, performing and crafts.

 

TSB ASCOT Community House

Aims: An activity and companionship club for older adults of the community to meet new people, establish new friendships and have some fun.

TSB ASCOT Community House also empowers members to remain independent in their own homes and community.

 

U3A Continuing Education

Aims: Continuing education for semi-retired and retired people. Monthly meetings held on second Thursday of the month at 2pm at the church.

 

Vegetarianism Society - NP Branch

Aims: To spread the principles of vegetarianism and its immense advantages. To bring attention to the cruelty of animals and destruction of the environment caused by a non-vegetarian way of life. To assist those who have recently become vegetarians, or who are considering doing so. To promote friendship amongst vegetarians and publish and distribute literature. To stress the necessity for peace and harmony among people and ALL other living creatures.

 

Victoria League in Taranaki

Aims: Commonwealth friendship, social activities, bridge afternoons and social trips.

 

W.A.A.C. / W.R.A.C.

Aims: To unite members of W.A.A.C. and W.R.A.C - past New Zealand female soldiers who served between 1939 and 1945. Quarterly coffee meetings are held at the RSA.

 

Widows and Widowers Taranaki

Aims: Widows and Widowers Taranaki aims to assist those who have been widowed to overcome the problems they face in adjusting to this changed situation. We aim to provide immediate and continuing caring support to the bereaved.

 

Wine Tasting Club, New Plymouth

Aims: Meet monthly to taste and promote wines. Own cellar and visiting experts and wineries.

 

Women's Club Inc, Taranaki

Aims: To provide a centre for women interested in social, public, professional, artistic and cultural affairs. Phone Tuesday to Wednesday 11am-4pm.

Aims: To encourage and inspire women within a dynamic, caring organisation.

Aims: Home making and citizenship companionship for all women.
