History

Inglewood Town Hall was built in 1913 and was the first picture theatre in Taranaki. It is listed in the District Plan and on the Historic Places Trust register as a historic place. Heritage rules apply to proposed works to the building.

A $75,000 upgrade to the hall was undertaken in 1981. In 2008, the Taranaki Electricity Trust granted $155,700 for a major upgrade to the hall, entrance foyer, toilet wall linings and the upper level seating area.

A memorial belonging to the Court Inglewood Forest AOF relating to members of the court who served in World Wars I and II is displayed in the supper room.
