Hempton Hall

Facilities: This medium sized war memorial hall (539m²) is located in the Okato Town Centre. The hall has a maximum capacity of 100 and features a dressing room and stage, separate supper room, heating, bar facilities and a kitchen with oven, cups and saucers for over 100. It is used for weddings, cabarets, concerts and aerobics. Plenty of street parking.

History

The land for this hall became public through the will of Thomas Hempton. His will stated that the land was to be held in fee simple upon trust for residents of the Okato Road District. It was transferred to the Taranaki County Council in 1967.

In 2008 the Council took over the bookings and direct management of the hall.
