Friends of the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery

Aims: The Friends of the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery have been actively involved with the gallery's programme since 1971. As well as playing a vital role in supporting the activities of the gallery, the friends extend their relationship between the gallery and the community.

As a friend you will have the opportunity to be involved with the gallery and to play an important role in its future success. Joining the friends through an annual subscription or lifetime membership entitles you to numerous privileges and access to exclusive functions.

The friends enjoy greater involvement with the Govett-Brewster arts community and receive advance information about upcoming exhibitions and events. Friends also receive invitations to all exhibition openings and the opportunity to regularly meet artists, curators and other art lovers.

 

Gallery 79

An art gallery specialising in original paintings, prints and drawings by contemporary Taranaki artists. Located in the centre of Hawera, opposite the courthouse.

Govett-Brewster Art Gallery Friends of Len

Aims: The Friends of Govett-Brewster Art Gallery with the support of the gallery and the Len Lye Foundation, presents Friends of Len.

If you are interested in Len Lye there is now a new way for you to find out more about this important New Zealand artist, and it's free.

Benefits available to Friends of Len include a quarterly newsletter offering information about Len Lye and Len Lye events, Len Lye merchandise offers and invites to Len Lye exhibitions.

New Plymouth Embroiderers Guild

Aims: A fellowship of people who enjoy stitching, learning new skills/techniques and encouraging young students to learn about embroidery. Meets each Wednesday 7.30pm at Community House, 32 Leach St, New Plymouth. On the first Wednesday there is a guest speaker. New skills and techniques are encouraged on the other evenings. Weekend workshops are organised several times a year. The Junior Guild meets at 6pm-7.15pm each Wednesday. Affiliated to the Association of New Zealand Embroider's Guilds.

Pottery Display

Aims: Pottery for sale made by members of the New Plymouth Potters Inc. Open weekends 1pm to 4pm at the Te Henui Vicarage. Open at other times for special sales and groups wishing to purchase pots and look at the vicarage.

Real TART Gallery

A community and regional art gallery exhibiting the work of over 200 Taranaki artists. Situated in the historic Masters Building, the site is also available for hire and is ideal for large and small functions.

Taranaki Arts Community Trust

Aims: To support Taranaki based artists and musicians through a range of initiatives including the Real Tart Community Gallery and the Limelite project.

 

Taranaki Arts Festival Trust

Aims: The Taranaki Arts Festival Trust (TAFT) was established in 1991 as an independent charitable trust and aims to bring a diverse range of arts opportunities to the Taranaki community as well as New Zealand.

 

Taranaki Creative Fibre

Aims: To foster interest in and promote various fibre arts such as spinning, weaving, felting, knitting etc. Through groups which meet on a regular basis throughout Taranaki.

Affilitated to the New Zealand Spinning, Weaving and Woodcrafts Society Inc.

 

Taranaki Society of Arts

Aims: To host regular art exhibitions.
Hours: Weekends and public holidays from 1pm to 4pm.
