District Swimming Pools

ENJOYING THE SUMMER WEATHER AT THE OKATO POOL

New Plymouth District has four seasonal pools that open for the summer as well as the Todd Energy Aquatic Centre which is open all year round.

Inglewood, Okato and Waitara Pools

Inglewood (corner of Elliot and Rata streets), Okato (Upper Kaihihi Road) and Waitara (Leslie Street) pools are open over summer from Saturday 3 November until late March. They are all closed on Christmas Day.

Opening hours
Monday to Friday: Lane swimming 6am-9am, schools 10am-noon and 1pm-3pm. Public swimming noon-1pm and 3.15pm-6pm.

Weekends and public holidays: 12.30pm-6.00pm.

School holidays Monday to Friday: Lane swimming 6am-9am, public swimming 12.30pm-6pm.

Fitzroy Pool

This shallow pool is designed for small children. This pool opens from late November, weather permitting, until the end of February. Closed Christmas Day.

Open daily from 10am-7pm.

Entry: Free.
Location: Bottom of Beach Street opposite Fitzroy Surf Club.

Note: Children under eight years of age must be actively supervised by a responsible person 16 years old or over at all New Plymouth District pools.
