BackgroundBackground

The Department of Labour is responsible for leading the settlement strategy throughout New Zealand and establishing a national network of migrant resource services, named Settlement Support New Zealand.

Settlement Support New Plymouth was established in May 2006 under the umbrella of the Taranaki Employment Support Foundation Trust. This charitable trust was established in August 2000 with the purpose of benefiting the Taranaki community through the provision, promotion and facilitation of a range of support networks, training, education and work opportunities that will assist those without work to find employment.
