Community Champions

Community Champions Oakura Beach.

Would you like to be a Champion?

We are looking for volunteers to look after their own residential block and keep it free of litter, graffiti and vandalism.

This would require walking around your neighbourhood at least three times a week and pick up rubbish, unbroken glass and report any broken glass, graffiti or vandalism to the Council.

Why not register your interest and become a Community Champion!

Do you:

  1. Walk your neighbourhood on a regular basis?
  2. Pick up small items of rubbish and dispose of it responsibly?
  3. Look out for graffiti and other types of vandalism to public areas?
  4. Report any broken glass, fly-tipping, graffiti or vandalism to the Council for removal?
  5. Want to do this type of volunteer work?

Our Community Champions will have the opportunity to come together on occasions and will be acknowledged for their efforts. We already have some champions in our community, so if you already do this, why not register today.

All Community Champions will be required to attend a health and safety briefing prior to starting, this will take approximately 20 minutes.

For further information contact the Council on 06-759 6060 or email enquiries@npdc.govt.nz.
