Community Development

Through a variety of events, support, networks, advice and training our community development team enables people and groups to develop the power, skills, knowledge and experience to undertake initiatives of their own to combat social, economic, political and environmental problems.

The Community Development team also manage the Housing for the Elderly service.

Visit the team on the ground floor of the Top Town Cinema Complex, Devon St East, New Plymouth. Office hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm.

Community Events

We aim to encourage participation and a sense of belonging in the community by offering a range of events, activities and programmes that promote community understanding, the celebration of success and cultural diversity.

Community Funding

Not only do we manage a number of grants which community groups and individuals can apply for, we can also provide multi-faceted funding strategies to enable groups to plan for the future and respond to the changing needs of the community.

Community Networks

Forum, formal and informal network meetings and information sharing activities help us strenghen community networks.
