Consultations

We publicly consult on a variety of issues every year. Read the current consultations and have your say in the future of your community.

When making a submission online you can tick the box at the end of the form and a copy of your submission will be emailed to you.

Please note, your submission, including your personal information, will be available to the public and media as part of our decision-making process.

You can also contact us at any time with comments on any issue, whether they are part of a formal consultation or not.

Representation Review

We are reviewing our representation system.
Status: Feedback has closed. Your comments will be considered and a proposed representation arrangement will be open for public submissions later in the year.

2009-2019 Community Plan

Our 2009-2019 Long-Term Council Community Plan sets out our programme of work over the next 10 years.
Status: The final plan was formally adopted on Monday 29 June 2009. Read the final version here.

Land Supply Review

We are conducting a two-year review on the supply of land for residential purposes throughout the district and industrial land in New Plymouth and Bell Block.
Status: Consultation has closed and stages 1 and 2 are complete. Stage 3 (District Plan change process) started in April 2008.

Neighbourhood Reserves Management Plans

District reserve and parks management plans have been prepared to identify the appropriate mix of uses and activities within each reserve and guide their day-to-day management.
Status: On Tuesday 9 June the Council adopted the New Plymouth Neighbourhood Reserves Management Plan and the Waitara Neighbourhood Parks Management Plan. Read the final version here.

Community Halls Review 2009

We are reviewing our role in funding and managing community halls and are seeking feedback on a draft discussion document.
Status: Feedback has closed.

Camping Ground Review – User Survey

New Plymouth District Council administers six coastal camping grounds: Belt Road, Fitzroy, Oakura, Onaero, Urenui and Waitara. A review was initiated in 2006 and this user survey was part of stage three of this review. Status: Feedback has now closed.

Rural Review Project - Stage 2

Ensuring the New Plymouth District Plan (2005) is equipped to sustainably manage the rural environment.
Status: Broad directions for the rural review process have been set and further consultation will occur as Stage 3 progresses.
