Consultations

The council publicly consults on a variety of issues every year. Find out more about the current consultations and have your say in the future of your community.

Please note, your submission, including your personal information, will be available to the public and media as part of the council's decision-making process.

You are welcome to contact the council at any time with comments on any issue, whether they are part of a formal consultation or not.

Proposed District Cemetery

New Plymouth District Council is calling for submissions on the draft master plan of the new district cemetery.
Status: Submissions close on Wednesday 4 June.

 

Draft Bylaws 2008

Bylaws help ensure New Plymouth District is vibrant, healthy and safe. Have your say about the Draft Bylaws 2008. 
Status: Submissions for Part 11 - Trade Waste close on Tuesday 3 June.

 

Draft Budget 08/09

Budget 08/09 is year three of the Community Plan 2006-2016 and sets out the council's programme for the 2008/09 financial year.
Status: Consultation has now closed. The council is scheduled to meet on Wednesday 11 June 2008 to consider all submissions. They will then meet on Thursday 26 June to adopt the budget and any amendments.

 

Reserve Classification Proposal

It is proposed that part of Trimble Park, Inglewood be classified Local Purpose (Community Buildings) Reserve and leased to Inglewood Child Care and Early Education Centre Inc. 
Status: Submissions closed on Tuesday 22 April 2008. Submissions will be considered by the council and an application will be made to the Department of Conservation for a final decision.

 

Land Supply Review

The council is conducting a two-year review on the supply of land for residential purposes throughout the district and industrial land in New Plymouth and Bell Block.
Status: Consultation has closed and stages 1 and 2 are complete. Stage 3 (District Plan change process) started in April 2008.

 

Liquor Ban - Fitzroy and East End Beaches and Mount Bryan Reserve

Status: A liquor ban was trialled from 1 November 2007 to 1 April 2008. A report is being drafted and will go to the council later in the year.
