Application for a Rugby World Cup Liquor Licence

The rugby World Cup Authority has received the following application for a Rugby World Cup Liquor Licence under Party 5 of the Rugby World Cup 2011 (Empowering) Act 2010 (the 'Act'):

Applicant: Compass Group New Zealand
Location of premises: Stadium Taranaki, 6a Maratahu Street, New Plymouth
Application number: 5012

Details of proposal:
The general nature of the business intended to be conducted under the Rugby World Cup Liquor Licence is to authorise Compass Group NZ Limited to sell and supply liquor on the premises situated at 6a Maratahu Street, New Plymouth, known as Stadium Taranaki for consumption of liquor on the premises during the Rugby World Cup games being held on this site.

The days and hours when liquor is intended to be sold under the Rugby World Cup Liquor Licence are:

  • Sunday 11 September: Public hours 4.00pm-7.10pm and Hospitality areas 3.00pm-9.20pm
  • Thursday 15 September: Public hours 5.30pm-8.40pm and Hospitality areas 4.30pm-10.50pm
  • Monday 26 September: Public hours 5.30pm-8.40pm and Hospitality areas 4.30pm-10.50pm.

Online at The Authorities website www.rwcauthority.govt.nz. A hard copy will also be available to view at the Civic Centre during office hours Monday to Friday, Liardet Street, New Plymouth.

Making an objection:
Only certain persons can make objections in relation to an application under the Act. These persons are specified in section 70 of the Act and are persons who have an interest greater than that of the general public. Objectors should assess whether they meet this criteria prior to making an objection.

Objections must be made using the online objection form available on the Rugby World Cup Authority's website www.rwcauthority.govt.nz

A copy of your objection will be forwarded to the applicant and your local council by the Rugby World Cup Authority.

Closing date for submissions:
The Rugby World Cup Authority must receive your objection no later than 5pm on Friday 22 July 2011.
