District Tree Policy

The purpose of this policy is to outline the council mandate regarding the stewardship of its tree resource and to provide consistency in decision making on the management of trees and bush remnants on council-administered.

This policy was first adopted by the council in 2001 and has been recently updated as a result of extensive internal review and public consultation.

Part one sets out principles, policies and objectives related to management of the district tree resource.

Part two is primarily a technical document to guide arboricultural activities related to council trees.
