Code of Practice for Infrastructure 2009

Reference: P09-003
Status:
Approved by the Council on 4 August 2009

The Council supports the adoption of NZS 4404: 2004 “Land Development and Subdivision Engineering” with amendments titled “Code of Practice for Infrastructure 2009” to replace codes of practice for infrastructure adopted by the Council in 1997.

Code of Practice for Infrastructure 2009

The purpose of this code of practice is to ensure that a uniform and acceptable standard is achieved when new infrastructure assets are constructed and existing infrastructure assets are upgraded.

This code of practice has been developed by New Plymouth and South Taranaki district councils from existing council codes of practice, NZS 4404: 2004 Land Development and Subdivision Engineering and best current work practice. The resulting code of practice is the adoption of NZS 4404: 2004 Land Development and Subdivision Engineering with the amendments contained in this document.

We intend to use this code of practice for approximately six months before undertaking a review of the document in preparation for commencing a plan change to the New Plymouth District Plan.

The South Taranaki District Council intends to use this code of practice where-ever possible and ultimately intends to undertake a plan change of the South Taranaki District Plan.

Copies of this document can be downloaded below or from a CD from us (free of charge). Hard copies are available from either council for a small charge.
