Plan Change 23 Confirmation of the Spatial Extent of Significant Natural Areas

Status:  Submissions and further submissions have now closed.
Legal effect: 1 September 2010 being the Public Notification date in accordance with section 86(B)(3)(b) of the RMA.

This Plan Change proposes to amend provisions to reflect the outcomes of a review of the legally unprotected Significant Natural Areas (SNA) currently identified in the District Plan. The Plan Change involves amendments to:

• The spatial extent and boundaries of the SNA currently identified in Appendix 21.2 graphics and on the planning maps.
• The text descriptions of the SNA and their location in Appendix 21.2.
• Appendix 21.3 to identify legally protected SNA land.
• Issue 16 of the Management Strategy to reflect the history and processes around SNA identification and assessment in the New Plymouth District.
