Are You Up to the Challenge?

Thu 20 Mar 2008

Ever wanted to give a duathlon a try, but didn’t know where to start?

The Todd Energy Aquatic Centre is giving people of all ages a chance to ease themselves into it with a fun run/walk and swim on Saturday 29 March.

“We’re encouraging people who probably haven’t tried something like this before to give it a go as a way to get moving and be fit,” says Acting Manager Aquatic Recreation Operations Blair Haase.

“People can register as individuals or as teams, such as families or groups of friends.

“It’s not hugely challenging. Our focus is on fun, and it’s suitable for both children and adults to have a go at.”

The event starts at 10.30am and spot prizes will be on offer, as well as a late breakfast for everyone who takes part.

Two distances are on offer: A 1km run/walk and 100m swim, or a 2km run/walk and 200m swim.

Registration forms are available at the aquatic centre.
