Paying Us

It's easy to make a payment at the Council. Choose from:

  • Online payments (rates, water, dog registrations, applications, debtors, parking tickets and infringements)
  • Internet and phone banking
  • Direct debit
  • Automatic payments
  • Cheques by post
  • In person

Online Payments

Pay your New Plymouth District Council rates¹, water bills¹, dog registrations, applications, debtors (accounts receivable), parking tickets and other infringements by credit card.
¹A service fee applies.

You will need your New Plymouth District account and credit card to pay online.

Internet and Phone Banking

Internet and phone banking is an efficient and cost effective method of payment.

The information below outlines all the details you will need to make payments to us using the internet or phone. Use your surname, the relevant code from the examples and the reference.

          Note: if you are paying rates for more than one property or more than one type of account, you will need to complete multiple transactions.


           

          Direct payments

          Weekly, fortnightly or other periodic payments can be made to suit your budget. Please complete the rates direct debit form and return it to us.

          Automatic payments

          Automatic payment forms, populated with our bank details are available. Please email us or visit the Civic Centre or a service centre.

          Cheque

          If you are posting cheques our postal address is Liardet Street, Private Bag 2025, New Plymouth. Please remember to include remittance advice or a note advising us what the payment relates to.

          In person

          If you are paying in person go the Civic Centre or Service Centres. Just check our opening hours to plan your visit.
