From project plans to funding - we can help!

Our Community Development Advisers can assist you and your community group with advice on everything from project planning through to funding.

Getting started

If you are thinking about setting up a group or developing a project, it is a good idea to talk to us about what steps you need to take.

Do you want to be an informal group or seek charitable status as a trust or incorporated society? Deciding on an appropriate structure for your needs is important, we are able to assist and provide you with the right information to get you on your way.

Project planning

Do you have a great idea but are not sure how to build a project plan?

We can sit down with you and look at all aspects of your idea and work with you one on one to develop a plan of attack. 

Developing a funding strategy/raising funds

Ensuring your group has a sustainable funding strategy is vital to your success. Many groups apply to funders in an adhoc manner and then get into trouble if funding is not forthcoming. To avoid this situation, we can sit down with you and plan a multi-faceted approach to funding as well as assist you to complete application forms. Putting your best foot forward to funders is about having a plan and being very clear about what, why and how they can assist you achieve your goals in the community. 

Governance assistance

Do you need some support in the area of ‘governance’? We have information and support available throughout the year to provide training and resources to groups. 

Capacity building

Does your group need to grow and develop in certain areas? If so, we can assist with ‘strategic planning’ and specialist referrals to groups. We are available to sit down and look at your group and identify areas that may need some attention to move you forward into the future. 

Gaining peer support

The Community Development team participate and run a number of network groups that may assist you in connecting with other key groups in the community. The team are only too happy to refer you to groups or provide key contacts in the community.
