Crime Prevention Through Partnerships

The Community Development team undertakes crime prevention and reduction programmes through a variety of partnerships. Funding is awarded by the Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) and Criminal Justice Group.

 

Crime prevention and reduction is achieved via:

  • Working collectively with government and non-government agencies to develop solutions that achieve real and measurable outcomes.
  • Promoting the accurate identification of local crime problems and community safety priorities.
  • Supporting evidence-based crime reduction activity.

JAG - Joint Action Group

NPiS - New Plymouth Injury Safe

New Plymouth Injury Safe (NPiS) is a charitable trust made up of a coalition of organisations that work collaboratively to reduce injuries and achieve the goals and objectives of the New Zealand Injury Prevention Strategy.

NPiS also undertakes, in partnership with the Council, the accreditation process to become a designated international safe community.
