ADULT LEARNERS

Forever learning

We support the community education sector by helping providers of adult and community education to identify common needs and develop partnerships and initiatives that meet these needs.

We have helped to establish and continue to support the Taranaki ACE Network. This is a group of providers that work together to help promote the value of lifetime learning through adult and community education within the Taranaki Region.

One of the group’s main roles is the co-ordination of activities to celebrate Adult Learners’ Week in September each year.  These celebrations offer the opportunity for local people to sample free taster courses, which are run by numerous providers across the district. They also include the Adult Learners’ Week Awards, which rewards students, teachers and organisations involved in the ACE sector for their achievements over the previous year.
