Community Champions

Become a Community Champion today!

Do you

• Pick up small items of rubbish and dispose of it responsibly? 
• Look out for graffiti and other types of vandalism to public areas?
• Report on any broken glass, fly-tipping, graffiti or vandalism to the Council for removal?

Why not register your interest to become a Community Champion?

We currently have volunteers through our district who are looking after their own residential block and keeping it free of litter, graffiti and vandalism. They walk their neighbourhood or nominated area at least two to three times a week and pick up rubbish, unbroken glass and report any broken glass, graffiti or vandalism to the Council.  

Our Community Champions come together on occasions and are acknowledged for their efforts. We have champions in our community who do this on a regular basis who are not registered with us, if you are one of them, why not register today and become part of this rewarding programme? 

Health and safety briefing

All Community Champions are required to attend a health and safety briefing prior to starting which takes approximately 15 minutes.  These are held at 4.30pm on the first Wednesday of every month at the Civic Centre, an alternative time and location can be arranged for community groups or businesses.
