Our district’s parks and walkways are a great part of our lifestyle – and NPDC wants your feedback on how they should be managed.
The Green Spaces Management Plan will guide how NPDC looks after 93 parks and reserves from Okato to Uruti. These green spaces range from big attractions such as the Huatoki and Te Henui walkways, to small patches of native bush and undeveloped green areas alongside streams.
Classifying reserves. Land needs to be classified in order to be included in a management plan. A list of the reserves proposed to be classified are;
- Added to the Waihowaka Stream Management Plan and to be classified as local purpose (esplanade) reserve – Lot 2 DP 499714 and Lot 23 DP 491743.
- Added to the Magnolia Drive Reserves Management Plan and to be classified as local purpose (drainage) reserve – Section 2 SO 448963.
- Added to the Waimea Stream Reserves Management Plan and to be classified as local purpose (pedestrian access) reserve – Lot 20 DP 489687 located off Pike Place.
