These guidelines provide simple solutions showing how on-street dining activities may be successfully applied for, established and managed so that the requirements of our Policy on Encroachment Licences for On-Street Dining are met.
These guidelines are flexible. Footpaths vary greatly in width as do pedestrian volumes and traffic movements on the adjacent street. In some circumstances it may be appropriate to issue a licence allowing on-street dining in an area that falls outside the criteria.
