Liquor Licensing | Manager's Certificates

There’s a lot to organise when you start up or buy a liquor business. We can help you with planning, building and environmental health consents and requirements.

Environmental health

You will need to contact us for information on health requirements including licences, consents and the additional requirements if you are also planning on selling food.

Planning

You may need to contact us for advice on the District Plan and information on parking requirements, advertising and the likely future patterns of development in the area your food business is or will be in.

Building

You may need to contact us for advice on construction requirements, change of use conditions, grease traps, plumbing and drainage, egress, number of sanitary fixtures, and access for disabled persons. Building consents will be required for most work undertaken.

Encroachment licence

You may need to apply for an encroachment licence if you are using the footpath as an outdoor area or your property protrudes over the footpath or street.
